March for Babies

Its that time of year again that we try to remember the time when I was a little tiny 4 pound preemie with not much to keep me warm except the blankets and isolate. It was 4 years ago that I came into the world 9 weeks early and only 4 pounds 1 ounce. Look at me now!

We do the March for Babies every year in hope to raise money and awareness for the March of Dimes. It is a wonderful cause and it brings people to realize that we need to find ways to make prematurity a thing of the past. We ask you to join our fight! The Sadie's Steppers will be walking again this year and we hope to raise more money then we ever have. We hope to have a great group of people marching for the great cause that helped mom and dad understand a lot about having a premature baby. Please join in the cause! The Sadie's Steppers will be walking April 26, 2009 in Danbury, CT but our team needs your support! Please remember us and make a donation towards the Sadie's Steppers!

What the heck?

Mommy sure has asked that question a lot this week. First we get the phone call that my school is closed for the week because a pipe had burst and they weren't going to be able to fix it for school on Wednesday. So a week at home with nothing to do but entertain us! Mom was thrilled. We went to library on Tuesday and had a special treat of taking our friend Miles with us and leaving Lyla with Landon (with Julie being there too). Then Wednesday we went to a playgroup and had friends come to our house because moms I think just don't know what to do with us. Its freezing cold! We sent our camera in to get fixed only to get a call that the paperwork arrived and no camera. So not insuring it and assuming the post office would get the camera to Illinois for repair we are out of a camera. So no new pictures of us for awhile. I had a dentist appt on Thursday and had NO cavities. I guess all that brushing has paid off. I then had a playdate and another one on Friday. Mom really is desperate for entertainment for me. Saturday is fun day as I had swimming in the morning and off to Riley's birthday party at Planet Play. I can't wait! It has been a trying week and to add to it all, the call came in that there is no school next week either, WHAT THE HECK? I certainly don't mind. So we are working on our letters at home and anticipating another week home. I think it leaves mom is the state of "What the Heck?"

OBAMA

Whether you like him or not today was a day in history. It was a day that we have welcomed the 44th president of the United States into our homes as our new chief of charge. Lyla and I have found it rather interesting that not only Barack Obama had a wife but could he really have children? I think its the thrill of saying his name, "Barack Obama", but we have been able to notice him on tv and in magazines. It has made history and now at least I can say I know who it is that made this moment for all Americans. So in honor of his day, "Barack Obama"!

REALITY!

Well, its back to reality! School, playgroups, daddy at work, no more presents or parties, or cookies all we have left of Christmas is the COLD!

I have been back to school for 2 days now and the first day back was a 2 hour delay and Wednesday we didn't have it because of the weather so going back to school hasn't been that big of adjustment. Mommy took all the ornaments and decorations down and back to grounds of reality. It seems that the holiday season provides us with so much excitement that we think everyday should be another little piece of the holiday. We ask mommy every morning, "what are we doing today?" She will reply, "you have school." or my not so favorite, "NOTHING." How can we do nothing? It was Christmas a few weeks ago and life was filled with nothing but excitement and entertainment and now I have to provide myself with fun? I mean really what I am suppose to put those toys away that I got from Santa? I should be nice to my sister and share my toys? I do ask my mom often, "what holiday do we celebrate next?" She will list them off and then I ask the ever so popular question, "do we get presents?" UGHHH I think that is what mom will reply!

Well, its winter and I guess the blues hit everyone. I didn't think it happened to a 4 and 2 year old but I guess everyone needs to get back into reality!

Happy New Year!

Well, I did it, I managed to stay up past midnight to see my first official new year. I was ringing it in with my friends and Cailyn partied like a rock star with me. We had friends over to help us celebrate and had the best time. Dad even got me a disco ball for the toy room. All the kids thought that was pretty cool! So we ate, drank and danced all night long! Back to school on Monday and our routine gets back into full swing! What a nice vacation and holiday season this has been! Happy 2009!
